Why does splashing cold water on one's face calm one down? You'll see it a lot in a movie, someone gets really stressed out and they go into the bathroom and splash water on their face. It really works though, it's kind of strange. Not sure physiologically why it works though.

when people get stressed, they get flushed and nervous and stuff. the cold water calms them down because they are flushed.... i think...sounds good!

Its either that or just the shock of the cold against your skin....I like that feeling :)

That's what I like, but how does that calm you down. Like if you're sick, that almost always makes you feel better.

I dunno, maybe because its cold it has a dulling effect on the nerves kinda like ice does. Thinkin of it anything cold feels good against the skin
