Baptisms and 3D films @ 08:51 pm

Today was quite the day. Moira and Darien were baptised today at the 11am mass. It was a nice ceremony and now all the Crawfords are baptised. Towards the end of mass the priest mentioned that it was snowing outside. I thought it was some Christmas thing they rigged up, but it was really snowing! Nothing stuck to the ground but it was pretty for about and hour.

After mass I wasn't feeling well so I came home (Angie went to the after party) to take some meds. Then most of the Voltron crew went and saw Beowulf in Imax 3D. I'm really not a movie (in the theater) kind of guy, and especially not an animated cgi movie kind of guy, but Imax 3D conned me in to it.

Beowulf in 3D is really pretty amazing. It was much more impressive than I expected it to be. From the studio opening to the end credits the whole thing is pretty passable 3D. Not the cheap red/blue glasses kind of 3D, but decent 3D. It still requires glasses but it wasn't that big of a deal. After about an hour my eyes started getting a little sore but it was worth it. If you have the chance I highly recommend seeing the movie in 3D.

The plot is pretty silly, and if it weren't 3D it would have been an entirely silly waste of time. The novelty of the 3D made the whole experience worth it.
