San Francisco at it again. City plans to tax grocery bags @ 10:22 pm

Today my alarm went off at 7:05 (on a Sunday!) so that scooty and I could hop over to Freddie's to pick up our Nintendo DSs. I was having second thoughts last night, but after picking them up this morning I'm convinced. They're actually really cool. The wireless networking is definitely going to be the killer app.

The launch title available were a little lacking, so we just ended up getting Mario 64 DS. The multiplayer in that is interesting, the real shining star was the Metroid demo that comes with it. That Metroid game is going to be absolutely amazing. I'm really excited to see the final product. Overall I'm quite happy with the DS. Even if there isn't a lot of software yet, it plays all my old GBA stuff just fine.

Im still going to hold out until the PSP comes out which plays close to DVD quality discs. 1 thing I was curious about the Wireless part...does it only link up to other DS's or can it also use an actual Wi-Fi hotspot to find other DS's say...another state over?

Far as know it's only other DS's because Nintendo took the 8021.1 spec and modified it, supposedly because they were worried about other devices interfering with the DS's wireless signal if they left it at the regular 8021.1 spec, That's what I've heard at least.
