"I feel like I'm in a Where's Waldo book written by the devil" - Ned Flanders @ 09:14 pm

Today I paid ($543) the Fire Department for coming out to put out the fire on the fourth of July. Hopefully this will keep us from having to go to court at all. My lawyer is working with the city attorney on that, so I'm hopeful. Next we'll just have to pay the lawyer and we can put this whole mess behind us. I'm glad it's over. The silver lining to this otherwise crappy cloud is that a couple of the bushes that were replaced across the street are already dying. I feel guilty in taking pleasure in that, but it's the little things you know.

I just got done organizing my Uncanny X-Men. Basically I put them all in plastics doubled up and put them in a order. It was mostly done before, but now I've merged my two collections and they take up less space. My mailordercomics.com order should arrive on Wednesday which should be quite exciting.

Now I think I shall catch up on my X-Factor as I've already read all the American Gods I need to today.

Let me see if I have this straight. Your 'neighbors' are still threatening to take you to court even though you replaced all the shrubs that were set on fire July 4th?? What in the heck is their deal? Also, why did you have to pay the fire department? Your tax dollars pay them to put out fires, for Pete's sake!

We're talking about criminal charges now (fireworks), not the civil charges of replacing the bushes.

I don't think we have to pay the FD, but if we do they're going to drop the charges and thus we don't have to go to court.

Good grief, you were charged with criminal mischief? Is that because fireworks are illegal there or because they felt you maliciously aimed the fireworks at their shrubs?

We got charged with illegal fireworks, and a "reckless burn" for burning the bushes. Now we're clear though.

Well, I am glad you are clear now. Next July 4th come down to Texas, where fireworks are legal in most counties, including ours, Travis.

Fireworks themselves aren't illegal just ones that leave the ground.

In the case with Scott. Ones that fly into your neighbors shrubs.

It wasn't so much that it flew into the bushes as much as it hovered over there.

See, that is the problem with inanimate objects--they are sneaky and deceitful. And apparently they also hover! :D
