Freddy Got Fingered

Just got back from seeing Freddy Got Finger, oh my God. That movie was awful! I rarely say that about a film (other then Sphere) but this movie was terrible. It was absolutely distgusting then entire way through and I'm not easily distgusted. I can see a lot of people walking out of this and demanding their money back.

Honor Roll

I just wanted to say that I think those "My kid is on the honor roll at XYZ Junior High" stickers are pretty lame. Congratulations, your kid is smart but it seems like something stupid to put on a car.

Wired Headline of the Day

"A survey says that 80 percent of Arab-world Internet traffic heads for sex sites and prompts a heated discussion over the cultural implications of sex in that part of the world. Steve Kettmann reports from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates."

Ambulance

Two ambulances just pulled up to take a guy that works in the other building away. Apparently he was having problems breathing and fainted. That makes two ambulance visits to this company in the three years I've been here. Crazy stuff.

Meeting

We just had a company wide meeting. It was an "emergency" meeting, to talk about the employee that they took away to the hospital. The president of the company called it "rumor control." They don't really know anything, (he got taken away less than an hour ago) but the president of the company said "it doesn't look good." I don't understand how you could know anything this soon... I don't like the president of the company, he seems rather weasely.

Death

They just walked through and are telling each department individually that our coworker passed away. It's terrible, Jim was such an amazing man. One of the nicest guys I've ever met, he will be missed.

Good things

So there was one good thing that came out of today. I just got a call from the transmission place that I took my car too and they fixed my car. Usually if they're going to do several hundred dollars of work on your car they will call you ahead of time, but he didn't. He just called and said "your car is fixed," and then explained that I had a plastic splash guard that I had torn the bolt out of. So at 50-60mph it would catch in the wind and bang on the ground and the tire making a loud noise. They rebolted it and now it should be fine. Charged me $30 for half an hours labor, which is pretty fair because it must have been a bitch to track that problem down.
