Kramer vs Stewart @ 08:26 am

Anyone else catch the Kramer vs Stewart interview on the Daily Show? I'm a huge John Stewart fan, and usually he's pretty right on with his criticisms, but I felt like on that show he was overly aggressive. He went totally attack dog against Kramer's passive "I screwed up" stance. I thought John Stewart came off as a bully after that interview.

I agree. However, I think responsible reporting is something Jon is passionate about, so I can see how he'd get riled up about it.

Also, he said numerous times during the interview that his rage wasn't aimed at Kramer himself, but at the entire MSNBC network -- so Kramer was taking the brunt of a bunch of anger aimed at a much larger problem/group of people.

That being said, Kramer's show is pure sensationalism -- I read somewhere that you were better off ignoring Kramer's picks and just flipping a coin to make market decisions. I understand that the guy knows his stuff when it comes to financial markets, but that just means he has a greater responsibility to try to give accurate information, as people who are watching his show are more likely to trust his expertise and go out and act on it.

I thought it was interesting that he said that his rant wasn't against Kramer, but then spent a good chunk of the interview railing against him personally, and showing damaging clips. He would have been better off attacking the entire establishment, because it seemed like he came off as the bully.

Kramer's show and Stewart's show are the same, they about making a boring topic (politics/money) interesting to a non-expert. I see more similarities than I do differences.

Either way I'm glad the whole thing is over.
