I've never heard of Eureka, but I find it hard to believe there is a greater science fiction television show than Firefly. Period.

Then clearly you have not watched Eureka!

Remind me sometime to get you copies of the first season in 720p

Blade Runner is totally overrated! Good movie, but not worth all the hype it gets.

I'd take Starship Troopers over Blade Runner.

I wholeheartedly disagree. If you've not seen the directors cut of Blade Runner, you haven't seen it.

Also, Starship Troopers was terrible. An injustice to the book.

Which directors cut? There have been like 17 versions. I have the directors cut on DVD that came out probably 5 years ago?

I'm willing to concede that Starship Troopers the movie is NOTHING like the book, I'd hardly say that makes it bad. In fact I think the movie is *far* superior to the book. Much in the same way that Blade Runner is nothing like Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. Still a good movie, but nothing like the book. Actually I was not a fan of the book.

Well, any of the ones that don't have the horrible voice-over and the happy ending.

Starship Troopers? Eh, to each his own, I suppose, but I'm wondering if we saw the same movie. Denise Richards chewing on scenery? Neil Patrick Harris as the "Bug Whisperer"? That shower scene from Showgirls? FAIL.

SciFi

Bro~ You're totally misinformed. I hope the powers that be smite whoever said Starship Troopers was better than Blade Runner. Independence Day shouldn't even be in this discussion. Next you're going to say MIB is on the list too. Back to the Future, ET, Aliens 3 (A La Frank), Dune, Gremlins anyone?, Mad Max (all, come on people MEL GIBSON!), Mars Attacks if only to watch Glenn Close get vaporized, Star Trek II (Wrath of Khan), The Cube, Total Recall, Tron!@!$#!%, 20000 leagues under the sea, 12 monkeys, 28 days later.

That should do.

Tell me why Independence Day should not be listed, please. It is definitely Sci-Fi, had a tremendous cast, was wonderfully set and the special effects were great. I own this movie and watch it frequently. If ET is on the list, Independence Day belongs there, too, I believe.

I'm with you on this one. I don't know if I'd go so far as to say it was the BEST of all time, but it's a very solid sci-fi movie. Also it had a unique plot, and great acting. You have my support.

There are plenty of classics. Have you seen Them! or Fail Safe?
