To help the desperate shortage in the UK, asylum seekers are being given free clown training @ 03:53 pm

I talked to the doctor this morning about how I'm doing. I think my body is doing pretty well responding to the meds, at least a lot better than I was a week ago. The doctor on the other hand seems to want like a 100% recovery before Friday. Maybe the amount of meds I'm on should have a miraculous response I'm not sure. Either way I feel better and my body seems to be responding, so we'll wait and see what the exam on Friday yields.

I asked him what would happen best case (my colon is 100% better) on Friday. He said they'd send me home and keep me on the meds and monitor me for a while. Worst case if I'm not any better at all he said they'd keep me and he/we would talk to a surgeon and look for surgery ASAP (probably Monday). Realistically I'm sure I'll be somewhere in between in which case he said he'd probably send me home anyway and we'll just keep a close eye on how my body responds to just to the oral meds (no more IV meds) and take it day by day. It's probably inevitable that I'll get a colectomy at this point, it's just a matter of when. I'll probably get out of the hospital on Friday, it's just a matter of how long I stay out.

He suggested that even if I'm 100% better I start talking to a surgeon just so I know what to expect, and I'm ready if it comes to that in the future. Apparently there is a really good surgeon as OHSU, so I'll probably look into that. Figure out insurance options, how long I'd be out of work, life style changes. etc.

OHSU has a lot of awesome physicians. I went there when I needed to do some eye scans for my surgeries a couple years back. They're really friendly and such.
